Wednesday, June 30, 2010 - 9:35pm Time to Stop Endless Unemployment Benefits Despite what you hear from the handout party (i.e. Democrats), ending jobless benefits is actually a good thing. Congress has thus far decided not to extend unemployment benefits beyond the ridiculous 99 weeks they currently pay out. Opponents are complaining that allowing the compensation to expire is unfair to the unemployed. Unfair?!? Really?!? You have got to be kidding me. The unprecedented amount of free money handed out by our government has not only pushed the nation further into debt, it has prolonged the high unemployment rate. Why work when the government will pay you to sit at home? Having nearly two years worth of jobless benefits is more than enough time to find work. However, a huge number of lazy deadbeats are milking the system and laughing all the way to the bank. More than 1.2 million of these slackers will finally stop getting a paycheck in the mail. Perhaps now the economy can get moving again. |
