Sanrio
is the Japanese company that created the sensation that is
the character Hello Kitty. Surprisingly, the first
product was simply a vinyl coin purse, but it was the
beginning of a franchise that would reach over $1 billion in
sales. The 2012 Hello Kitty calendar adds to said
franchise as you can see the white, female cat all over each
month. Beyond the calendar, there are dolls, stickers,
dishes, clothes, and a theme park. The Hello Kitty
2012 calendar can't rival the official theme park, but it
does turn more than a few heads. Of course there is a
television series to go along with the product line.
Although the TV program was not as successful, Hello Kitty
has done very well with video games. The latest is
called Parachute Paradise and debuted on the iPhone. |
