A
cultural phenomenon and a city unlike any other in the
United States is Dallas, Texas. The Big D is deeply
Southern in both location and tradition. It has been a
center for tycoons in the oil, cotton, and financial
industries over the years. The 2012 Dallas and Fort
Worth calendars show the fascinating skyscrapers on the
cover. With 5.8 million in the metro area, it is
considered the fifth largest in the nation. Dallas was
also the site of the assassination of President John F.
Kennedy. As his motorcade was cruising down Elm
Street, he was shot and killed. The Dallas and Fort
Worth 2012 calendar gives some historical information about the
town. The climate of Dallas, Texas also draws people
to this great land. It is humid through most of the
year, but it is relatively comfortable. There is even
snow in Dallas on occasion. The city receives about
4.5 inches each year. |
