The
Crossroads to the West and the central location of the
Mormons is Salt Lake City, Utah. Established in 1847
by Brigham Young and his group of Mormon followers, the city
blossomed under his direction during the 19th century.
The 2012 Salt Lake City calendars shows the mountain
backdrop of the city skyline. In 1895, Utah wanted
admission into the United States, but first had to ensure
that polygamy was banned in the state constitution.
The Mormons were well known for polygamy at the time.
Salt Lake City boomed in the hundred years that followed
their admission and today the area boasts a population over
one million. Information is plentiful in the Salt Lake
City 2012 calendar. Today, the city is slowly becoming
more diverse. Over 20% of the people are non-white.
The majority of the minority class is Hispanic. |
