The Big
Red, as they are known, have been representing Cornell
University in Ithaca, New York for over a century. It
was in 1905 when a graduate wrote a song that called them
the big, red team. The vintage 2012 Cornell Big Red
calendar shows that era when the Ivy League schools were at
the top of the football world. The team was national
champions in 1915, 1921, 1922, and 1939. Such
accomplishments are unthinkable these days for the Ivy's.
The Cornell Big Red 2012 calendar focuses on a number of
longstanding match-ups such as Syracuse. The team has
played on Schoellkopf Field since that 1915 season.
The field is named after Henry Schoellkopf, a former Cornell
football player.
