The
Tigers football team is led by Gary Pinkel, who is now
entering his ninth year as the head ball coach. Out of
the Big 12 North, the University of Missouri plays their
games at Faurot Field. The 2012 Vintage Missouri
Tigers football calendar checks out classic battles from the
1920's and beyond. The Northwestern game from October
29, 1927 dawns the cover of this Missouri Tigers 2012
calendar. Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium is named
after former coach Don Faurot, who was at the helm at the
University of Missouri from 1935-1956. Faurot took
three years away from the field to serve for the U.S. Navy
in World War II. In his nineteen years as coach, the
Tigers won three conference titles. He then went on to
serve as athletic director from 1956-1967 before retiring. |
