The
Owls football team hails from Houston, Texas and is led by
third year coach David Baliff. Their home games are
held at Rice Stadium, built in 1950 with a current capacity
of 70,000. The 2012 Vintage Rice Owls football
calendar goes back to the early days of the program when
they were coached by John Heisman, Jimmy Kitts, and Jess
Neely. Heisman was the coach when this 1927 pamphlet
against A&M was produced in the Rice Owls 2012 football
calendar. Although the squad has an overall winning
percentage of just .421, they do have a winning record under
David Baliff. The Rice Owls have also won seven
conference titles when they played in the now defunct
Southwest Conference (SWC). |
