Born in
central Vietnam in 1926, the man known as Thich Nhat Hanh is
a Zen Buddhist monk that was exiled from his home country.
He has taught at Columbia University and lectured at
Cornell. His teachings are shown in this 2012 Thich
Nhat Hanh calendar. The Zen master preaches a peaceful
path to human existence and was nominated for a Nobel Peace
Prize in 1967 by Martin Luther King, Jr. His influence
in the west is apparent with this Thich Nhat Hanh 2012
calendar. He publicly opposed the Vietnam War and has
frequently urged warring countries to find a non-violent
