Antarctica 2012 Calendars

The desolate continent at the southernmost tip of the earth is the frigid and ice-covered Antarctica.  Surprisingly, the region qualifies as a desert as it only rains about eight inches per year.  Despite that, the 2012 Antarctica calendar uncovers some amazing mountainscapes and ocean views.  There are about 4,000 non-permanent residents on the continent, nearly all of which have a scientific research purpose.  Those folks have been able to capture these pictures in the Antarctica 2012 calendar.  The continent covers an astonishing 5.4 million square miles, ranking it ahead of Europe and Australia.  The Antarctic Treaty allows for experiments and disallows any military activity.  That still didn't preclude eight countries from claiming a piece of the land.  Surprisingly, the United States has not made a claim on any of the territory.
