Edinburgh, Scotland 2012 Calendars
|
The
capital of Scotland and home to 1.25 million inhabitants is
the beautiful city of Edinburgh. It is one of the
United Kingdom's most frequented tourist destinations and
second only to London. The reason why can be clearly
seen in this 2012 Edinburgh calendar. After all, how
many cities can boast about having a castle? The
Edinburgh castle is an ancient structure built in the 11th
century and people have lived in the town since the 9th
century. Also pictured in the Edinburgh, Scotland 2012
calendar is the Palace of Hollyroodhouse, originally a
monastery from the year 1128. It is now the home of
Queen Elizabeth II, who spends her summers there. When
the Queen is in residence, the Royal Standard of the United
Kingdom flies overhead. |
