Back in
1960, a television program called The Andy Griffith Show
debuted on CBS. Eight years and 249 episodes later,
the cast of the show became famous. A very young Ron
Howard as Opie and Don Knotts as Barney Fife were the stars.
The 2012 Andy Griffith Show calendars have them both on the
cover, along with Jim Naybers as Gomer Pyle and, of course,
Andy Griffith. The 30 minute comedy made a star out of
Ron Howard, who went on to success in Happy Days and as an
award winning director and producer of many movies.

characters in many poses and situations. They were
always getting into something, especially Barney Fife.
The Deputy Sheriff was a little on the slow side, which made
