April 16, 1889 in London, England, Sir Charles Spencer
Chaplin became a famous filmmaker and comedian in the early
twentieth century of American cinema. He was the most
notable silent-film actor in Hollywood after bursting onto
the scene in 1915. The 2012 Charlie Chaplin calendar

For twenty-five years through the Great Depression, he
brought humor to the world and made a fortune in the
process. The top-hat that made Chaplin famous is seen

retired to Europe after being banished (temporarily) from
the United States. He passed away in Switzerland on
