Born on
April 16, 1889 in London, England, Sir Charles Spencer
Chaplin became a famous filmmaker and comedian in the early
twentieth century of American cinema. He was the most
notable silent-film actor in Hollywood after bursting onto
the scene in 1915. The 2012 Charlie Chaplin calendar
takes a look at the black-and-white movies he starred in.
For twenty-five years through the Great Depression, he
brought humor to the world and made a fortune in the
process. The top-hat that made Chaplin famous is seen
throughout the Charlie Chaplin 2012 calendar. It
became one of his trademark looks. The talented man
retired to Europe after being banished (temporarily) from
the United States. He passed away in Switzerland on
December 25, 1977. |
