There
have been five different Star Trek television series since
the beginning in 1966. The original Star Trek only ran
from 1966-1969 and contained 80 episodes. It took off
in popularity again in 1987 when The Next Generation was
created. The 2012 Star Trek calendar on the left
contains information on all the series. The Next
Generation ran for eight seasons and included 178 episodes,
more than double the original. After that, Star Trek:
Deep Space Nine was made, which ran from 1993-1999.
There were 176 episodes of Deep Space Nine, but it was never
as popular as Star Trek: The Next Generation. The Star
Trek 2012 calendars on the right shows the original cast from
the 1960's. Voyager then went for 172 shows from
1995-2001 and Enterprise was produced from 2001-2005, but
lasted only 98 shows. |
