Back to the Future became an instant hit as Michael J. Fox plays Mary McFly, a teenager who goes back in time to 1955. Back to the Future also starred Christopher Lloyd as Dr. Emmett Brown, and Lea Thompson as Lorraine Baines McFly. When Marty goes back in time with the use of the doc's time machine, he is responsible for making his parents fall in love with each other so he can exist in the future. The time machine is a Delorean car and needs to get to 88 miles per hour to go back in time. Since Back to the Future became so famous, two sequels were filmed; one that went much further back in time and one that went into the future.
