Carolos Castaneda Posters

Carlos Castaneda lived from 1925-1988.  A U.S. writer of Peruvian descent, he wrote extensively about drug use.  Carlos Castaneda was born in Peru, but came to the United States at an early age and became a U.S. citizen in 1957.  His first book made him well known, as he talked about Don Juan and marijuana and natural drugs and about their effects.  Carlos Castaneda wrote other books that weren't necessarily about drugs, but the ones that were became controversial and gave him a cult following.  He wrote about Don Juan Matos, who was the main character in his books, and how he had come to meet this man.  Castaneda also discusses how Don Juan was a shaman, which is said to be someone who can cure illness, but also cause suffering if need be.  Carlos Castaneda's books have sold over 8 million copies.
