Gustav Klimt Posters

He was born in July of 1862 outside of Vienna, Austria.  Gustav Klimt created a number of exquisite paintings such as the one above entitled "The Kiss".  It was an oil on canvas that he painted in 1907.  He loved using mosaic and gold patterns in the background of such work, and it can be seen clearly in this painting.  Gustav Klimt became involved in the Vienna Art movement and became quite important to the organization.  His other notable works include "Judith I", which was done in 1901, and "Adele Bloch-Bauer II" in 1912.  Gustav Klimt passed away of pneumonia in February of 1918.
