The great British rock and roll band from the 1960's. The Beatles consisted of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John Lennon, and Ringo Starr. The group started getting together in 1957 when John began forming a band. He met Paul that year and the two began performing. They met George the following year and he joined up. It was two more years before they officially became known as The Beatles. They had been working with Pete Best on drums, but in 1962, they fired him and hired Ringo Starr, thus completing the foursome. They also had Stuart Sutcliffe on bass until 1962.
