This was the last Beatles album recorded. It was released in September of 1969 and featured songs such as "Come Together", "Something", and "Maxwell's Silver Hammer". It also featured a medley of songs that they put together. The Beatles themselves were a British pop band that became a craze in late 1963. They came to the United States in 1964 and their popularity skyrocketed. They were together as a group for only ten years, from 1960-1970, but their success was unprecedented. John Lennon and George Harrison have since died. John Lennon was murdered in December of 1980 in New York City by a lunatic fan. He was just 40 years old. Harrison died in 2001 of lung cancer.
