Pictured
is a D.A.R.E. t-shirt for only $22.99.
The D.A.R.E. t-shirt reflects a 'say no to drugs' campaign
that was a big hit in the late 1980's. The D.A.R.E. t-shirt is
designed in black, with D.A.R.E. in red letters, with the slogan 'To
Keep Kids off Drugs'. |

The
Drug Abuse Resistance Education was started in 1983 and is
designed to help keep children off of drugs. Rather
than tackling the clearly more important supply side of the
equation, D.A.R.E. focused on the demand side. Their
thought was, and is, to educate kids into never taking drugs
in the first place, even though they are constantly
available. This D.A.R.E. t-shirt above is worn by many
of the 36 million people that are in the program. The
program is not only in America, but in other nations as
well. The biggest criticism of D.A.R.E. is that it
doesn't work. There is no evidence that people in the
program are less likely to do drugs. As long as there
is a supply of drugs and it is cheap, kids will always do
them. |
