Prevent Forest Fires T-Shirts

The United States Forest Service created a mascot back in
1944 by the name of Smokey the Bear. The mascot was
designed to bring attention to forest fires and teach people
how to prevent them. At the time, it was believed that
all forest fires were bad, but history has shown that they
can be very natural. These Smokey the Bear t-shirts
picture him with his big hat. The most common tagline
from Smokey the Bear is "Only you can prevent forest fires".
Even though the slogan caught on, it is not entirely true.
Many wildfires, like the ones occurring in California right
now, are caused by lightning. |
