Another comic book story with a dark twist is called The Punisher. The Punisher is a vigilante justice "hero", who goes around killing and kidnapping people as a way to fight crime. In a sense, it is fighting fire with fire. The Punisher is like the anti-Superman. He does not spare human life. These Punisher t-shirts reflect that dark reality. Movies have been made about this character, but have not done very well. A film was made in 1989 and another one was created in 2004, but neither one went anywhere. The Punisher was first introduced in The Amazing Spider Man in 1974. Since then, the character has taken a life of its own.
