1970's category. The English band Queen started out in 1970 in
London with Freddie Mercury as the front man. The Queen

The
British rock group Queen was founded in 1970 in London.
The members of the band were Freddie Mercury, John Deacon,
Brian May, and Roger Taylor. The Queen t-shirts up
above show one of their famous tours. Although two of
their members have passed away, the remaining guys are still
active. With over 300 million albums sold worldwide,
Queen is one of the most successful groups of all time.
In the late 1980's, rumors surfaced that lead singer Freddie
Mercury was suffering from AIDS. He only confirmed the
rumors one day before his death in November of 1991.
As you can see from the popular Queen t-shirts, the legacy
of the band lives on. In 2001, the group was inducted
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. |
