The
rock band Tool was formed in Los Angeles in 1990 and is
still active today. The current members are Maynard
James Keenan, Adam Jones, Danny Carey, and Justin
Chancellor. A previous group member was Paul d'Amour.
Tool has been labeled progressive rock, alternative, heavy
metal, and progressive metal. These Tool t-shirts use
the letters of their name in a unique fashion. The first widely
released album came in 1992 with Opiate. Tool
played Lollapalooza in 1993 and generated an enormous amount
of interest. They have released six albums to date,
including the Opiate EP. Their latest venture is
10,000 Days, which is set to be released in May of 2006.
One of Tool's most popular singles has been "Prison Sex".
Although it sold well, the band receive a lot of negative
publicity concerning the graphic lyrics and video.
Tool's music has historically been difficult to categorize,
as it encompasses a wide variety of genres. |
