Former
President of the United States Theodore Roosevelt is
credited with the quote in the above t-shirts. In it,
he states that "Patriotism means to stand by the country.
It does not mean to stand by the president." The shirt
is very telling because fascist, conservatives think that it
means the same thing. If you don't stand by your
president, they say, you must be unpatriotic.
Republicans use key words like this all the time to
disparage Democrats and liberals. The truth is that
they are the unpatriotic ones. The Patriotism means
t-shirts will show all who see it that you don't have to
stand beside a corrupt war criminal to be a patriot. |
