Chittenden County is the biggest in the State of Vermont and
one of the smaller towns within it is Essex. Adjacent
to Colchester, it is home to only 18,500 residents.
The Essex t-shirts have one in big, bold, block letters to
stand out in a crowd. The former mayor of Cleveland,
Ohio, William B. Castle was born here. The second
Essex t-shirt is written in green cursive with the 'x'
continuing on across the bottom. The town made
news in the last year because of the merger of the Village
of Essex Junction and the Town of Essex. That was
overturned recently, on January 23, 2007 by nearly two
hundred votes. If they had joined forces, the official
name would be the Town of Essex Junction. Who knows if
they will vote again. |
