In the
southern part of the state on the Rhode Island border is the
scholarship city of Fall River. This Massachusetts
town is grouped together with New Bedford to make the
backbone of the south coast of the state. The 508 is
the area code for the region and you can represent with some
Fall River t-shirts above. Battleship Cove is also
located here, which is where a number of United States
warships and submarines are based. The second Fall
River t-shirts talk of the girls, of which there are many.
For every one hundred women over the age of eighteen, there
are only eighty three men. The most famous resident of
Fall River was Lizzie Borden. This spinster murdered
her father and stepmother with an axe back in 1892.
Borden was acquitted, but not before the trial brought an
O.J. like atmosphere to Fall River. The case is still
discussed to this day. |
