On the
border with the State of Minnesota is the gateway city of
Fargo. The North Dakota city has a sister in Moorhead,
Minnesota and together they bring the population near
200,000. The Fargo t-shirts may be more recognized
because of the award-winning movie from 1996. The
interesting factoid is that the movie takes place primarily
in Minnesota, not North Dakota. The Fargo t-shirts
could be a collectable item for fans as well. Some
celebrities that have lived in Fargo are baseball players
Chris Coste and Roger Maris, Miss North Dakota 2006 Kimberly
Krueger, and singer Bobby Vee. In 1959, a plane
carrying Richie Valens, the Big Bopper, and Buddy Holly
crashed on its way to Fargo. It crashed after takeoff
in Iowa. |
