Even
though this city is only home to 4,900 folks, the Georgetown
t-shirts sell like crazy. The small town in Delaware
is situated in the southern part of the state, virtually
equidistant to the shore and Maryland. Georgetown is
also the name of the huge university in Washington, D.C.
These Georgetown t-shirts can easily double for the school
seeing as how the Delaware name is nowhere to be seen.
The town itself is relatively impoverished, with a full
twenty five percent below the poverty level. That is
in sharp contrast to the student body at Georgetown
University, only a short drive away. Due to its
location, the town was split during the Civil War between
union and confederate soldiers. Even though it was
more than 150 years ago, it took a long time to move past
the conflict. |
