The
island next to Martha's Vineyard off the southern coast of
Massachusetts is the affluent town of Nantucket. The
summer destination is a full thirty miles from Hyannis, but
is easily accessible by a one or two hour ferry. The
Nantucket t-shirts are incredibly popular, as tens of
thousands of tourists visit each year and do a lot of
shopping. You can bring your car on the ferry, but the
residents of the town strongly discourage it. They try
to maintain a somewhat quiet atmosphere, despite all the
guests. The official flag on the Nantucket t-shirts
feature a large whale in the center. The townspeople
keep strict rules on the design of homes on the island of
Nantucket. Homes can only be built a specific way and
the choices of front entrances and colors are limited. |
