Richmond. Its history includes being the capital of
the Confederate States during the American Civil War.
The 804 in these Richmond t-shirts represents the area code
of the town. Being the capital of the Confederacy was
a strategic decision for the south because of the armor
plating that was readily available. Towards the end of
the war, retreating Confederate soldiers set fire to 25% of
the buildings in Richmond, Virginia. The second
Richmond t-shirts promote the city itself and the commercial
center it now is. A number of Fortune 500 companies
have their headquarters downtown.
