On the
far eastern side of Washington State away from other major
cities is Spokane. With northern Idaho to the east and
Seattle a solid 280 miles west, this city is a long way from
another major one. As a result the culture is unique
and these Spokane t-shirts echo that sentiment. They
recently hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Men's
Basketball Tournament in March, 2007. Fans came out in
full force, many in Spokane t-shirts, to root the teams on.
One reason the games were played there was the draw of
Gonzaga University. The Bulldogs have put Spokane,
Washington on the map by having a nationally ranked
basketball team. Even though the school and city are
far more than just the one team, it has given some needed
recognition to the region. |
